MUHD TAIB GAVE ME DATUK P.....MELAKA?

marina, please dont talk to much......

The Prime Minister’s job is not an easy one, he needs to juggle the real and political needs of over 20 million Malaysians, many of whom have nothing better to do than to moan and groan about anything end everything.

No one should pity the Prime Minister, of course, it is after all his job and no one forced him to take it up. As a human being we all suffer from stress, some more than others but as Prime Minister and the official face of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi cannot go around complaining about his personal problems and he has not.

Losing one’s wife, especially a particularly devoted one after decades of companionship is a hardship that many cannot endure in silence but our Prime Minister did just that. When he married Jean Danker, many tongues were set wagging for one reason or another and this is also expected, just as would happen at any high profile weddings.

Recently Marina, daughter of respected former Prime Minister, Tun Mahathir Mohamad, made it clear to all and sundry that anyone who nominated Jean for an award is a ‘bottom-kisser’ and one does have to wonder why such vitriol sprang from her outspoken lips. She wondered out loud why Jean should be considered worthy of a state honour, is it for just marrying the Prime Minister?

The state in question is of course Malacca and Marina’s wrath was clearly aimed at Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam, the Chief Minister.
She said in her blog:
“So does this now mean that Melaka considers women marrying widowers as performing a service to the country and therefore worthy of an award?
“What does it do to women who get awards in their own right, when they see someone getting one just for marrying the right person?

I have but one question for Marina.
When her mother was granted the title Tun, why was there no vehement protest from her? What was Siti Hasmah’s great contribution to the country? What was her service that made her a deserving recipient of the highest non-royal title in the land? I do not remember her drafting any laws, drawing up development plans, coming up with solutions to our economic or political problems or anything that is related to the leadership of the country.

Sure Dr Siti Hasmah was a big name in charity but if we measure worthiness just on that then Dr Jemilah Mahmood, to name but one should have gotten her Tun-ship years ago and so should many other selfless men and women who not only sacrifice their time but also limited money for the benefit of others without ever getting a mention.

Siti Hasmah got miles of editorial coverage every time she does anything charitable. Firstly no one expected her to do so? The title Tun was given to her out of love and respect for Dr Mahathir, for the hours of devotion she put in to hold the family together so that Dr M can concentrate on the country.
Surely Marina remembers the difficult episodes in her family.

Let me tell you a little story about Marina and her mother, or rather how much she insists that we respect her mother.
Reporter and journalists are known for sometimes not standing up when a VIP enters a room so at one function officiated by Dr Siti Hasmah some 10 years ago a particular female journalist from the country’s oldest newspaper was so engrossed in conversation that she failed to notice the guest of honour entering the hall and did not stand up.

This caught marina’s eyes and she took time off from her busy schedule to give the hapless reporter a piece of her mind and it went something along the line of – “why don’t you show respect to the woman who has done so much for the country, you have no respect for her,” she ranted. The episode even made it into her column in ‘The Star’.

Sheesh. Talk about an inflated sense of self importance. That reporter was reprimanded by her superiors when they heard that Marina was angry. By her own judgment, those editorial superiors were ‘bottom-kissers’ for doing nothing other than to make sure old-man Dr M was not angry.
The fact is, Marina, like her father is going through a withdrawal symptom, after all power is a drug.

All that Ali Rustam did was show respect to Jean, she agreed to be thrusted into the limelight and take responsibility for the personal welfare of our Prime Minister.
If Marina does not think that being a good wife, a difficult, honorable and sometimes thankless task is worthy of awards and recognition, then I do not know how she can say that she champions women’s rights.

Admit it Marina, you are just jealous and taking it out on a defenseless woman. You know that she is not someone who would hit back.

WHAT LA YOU NAVA...HEY DEY

very interesting article from somewhere.

Navaratnam more outspoken than Kit Siang. Ex-senior goverment official, Tan Sri Ramon Navaratnam said in a statement, those who had protested against Thierry Rommel’s comments on the New Economic Policy (NEP) should substantiate it with valid data and statistics. Now he seems to be a more vociferous opponent of the NEP than Lim Kit Siang. Last time you supported the government, nowdays you attack back.

The head of European Commission delegation to Malaysia, Thierry Rommel met Foreign Ministry deputy secretary-general I Datuk Othman Hashim less than an hour in Putrajaya over his criticisms of the New Economic Policy (NEP) yesterday.
Rommel later told the Associated Press that he informed Othman that he had not meant to interfere in internal politics when he made a speech last week.
“We had a useful exchange of views for about 45 minutes. I was satisfied with the approach adopted. I think it went very well, and I hope the misunderstanding about my intention has been resolved.”
Rommel is alleged to have stated at a luncheon talk to ambassadors and foreign diplomats last Thursday that Malaysia should roll back its 37-year-old NEP.
Rommel said he had not meant to interfere in Malaysian affairs, but damage has been done whether his speech was delivered with intention or not. Let it be a lesson to other ambassadors.
Interestingly, The Star today reported that the Centre for Public Policy Studies (CPPS) chairman Tan Sri Ramon Navaratnam said in a statement, those who had protested against Rommel’s comments should substantiate it with valid data and statistics.
He said that while Rommel’s statement did not follow proper diplomatic protocol, it was increasingly necessary for all Malaysians to carefully examine the criticism, besides professionally assessing the contents for its truth and relevant implications.
“The CPPS feels that it is imperative for Malaysia to constantly review its socio-economic policies to ensure they are effective in promoting real sustained socio-economic development for all Malaysians in the long run,” he said.
It is not surprising that Navaratnam came out with a statement to strongly support Rommel, because this ex-senior government official is a vociferous opponent of NEP since he retired from the civil service.
What surprise us is that he seems to be even more outspoken than traditional critics of NEP like Opposition Leader Lim Kit Siang.
The Star also reported that Kit Siang called on the Government to get a full clarification from Rommel on his statements.
“The most sensible and productive response is to ask for full clarification from Rommel and to have a full debate in Parliament,” he told reporters at the Parliament lobby.
Of course Kit Siang’s intention is clear. He wants the Rommel’s issue to be discussed in Parliament so that the opposition would have the opportunity to attack the government and NEP.

SIMPLE DIMPLE

Expressing my thinking....

First of all, i like to make a confession. I cannot write good bahasa and english. My spelling is terrible and my grammar is even worst. Nevertheless i want to be a blogger. I want to express myself. So forgive me if my language is terrible especially my grammar and spelling. Very lazy to check on the spelling. My english teacher always tell me that my grammar is so bad that why i cannot write good english. Reason, because i dont bother to check my grammar, nouns, tenses and spelling. What i want to do is to communicate with people around the world. To tell them what i think and feel. To comment on what other people say. If there is good english teacher around the world, please give your comment on my english, so that i can improve from time to time. Readers of my blog, you can comment on the subjects i write and my english, especially my grammar. So, English teachers in USA, UK or Malaysia for that matter, please correct my grammar and spelling.

Secondly, my blog will concentrate on subjects related to the world and Malaysia. Maybe it is a different kind of thinking altogether. Because i am not a member of any political party, i am not related to the prime minister, i am not a freethinker, i do not like to use four letter words (unless if it is necessary), i do not subscribe to extremism. But for sure, i love US, but not Bush, i love London but not Blair, i love TDM because i think he is a very rational person. No wonder god allows him to live longer so that he can monitors what the government is doing right now.
'
Lastly, i like to beg to everyone in this world, dont get involve in corruption, dont curse people, dont lie, dont rape boys and girls, dont use abusive words, dont always think u are the only one who is right, dont bully people, dont grab everything but leave some to other people, dont drink and drive, dont talk bad about your parent, dont take drugs, dont be greedy, stop at the red light, stop taking bribes, stop abusing your power, stop peeing on the street, stop playing politic, stop the extremism, stop talking bad about other people's religion, stop thinking about what people say, stop eyeing on big projects, stop the apple-polishing culture, stop taking all the projects and giving it to your cronies, stop taking money from poor people, stop bitching, stop the war. I want to stop for now. may the force be with you.
